Wedding Photography Packages
Shopping for wedding photographers can be a little overwhelming. There are a lot of options out there and choosing the right one is crucial for creating visual heirlooms that will last a lifetime.
Photographers often offer packages to take the guesswork out of pricing and to make the process easier for brides and grooms. Packages usually include a certain number of hours, digital files and products like prints and albums.
Coverage Time
Navigating the sea of options for wedding vendors can be overwhelming. Choosing a Wedding photography Packages that can create the visual heirlooms you dream of is a huge decision, but so is picking out a package that will work for your unique day.
Coverage time is a great way to help narrow down your choices, as it provides an overview of the hours that you can expect your photographer to be working throughout the day. This can include getting ready photos, candids of your guests and friends, detail shots, first look photos, your ceremony, family portraits and the entire reception.
This is typically a full-day package that covers the entirety of your event. It allows for plenty of time to capture all of the design details that you are so excited about. It also ensures that you have coverage of your first dance and any special family or friend dances (if they are taking place). It will usually include all of the final, edited digital images in a gallery for easy viewing and downloading.
Engagement Photos
Once you have narrowed down wedding photographers who produce the style of photos you envision for your wedding day, ask about their add-ons and packages. These might include a pre-wedding photo session or engagement photos, albums, or a photo booth.
An engagement session is a great way for you to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day and give the photographer a chance to practice capturing your unique personalities. A few weeks before the big day, your photographer can snap candid shots of you and your partner and capture details like your dress, shoes, and invitations.
Many photographers offer a gallery of digital files that you can download following your wedding to share with friends and family. Some also include a photo album in their packages, which is a great gift for parents and grandparents who may not be able to attend your wedding. These albums can be framed or displayed on a canvas print gallery wall, and can even double as greeting cards for your first holiday season as a married couple!
Second Shooter
Adding a second photographer to the package can be a great way to set yourself apart from other photographers. A second shooter helps the lead photographer capture more images in a shorter amount of time during moments like your first look and walk down the aisle, as well as helping out with group photos and keeping things running smoothly.
If you do decide to offer a second shooter in your packages, consider making this clear to your clients in their contract. Explain that while a second shooter is optional, it can help ensure that all of their most important moments are captured.
Other services or products that you may offer (such as engagement photos, photo albums or photo booths) should also be clearly outlined in your packages. Some photographers will include these in their packages while others charge a la carte.
Albums
Many photographers include the option for a photo album in their wedding packages. “An album allows couples to relive their day in a way that single photos on a screen cannot,” says Claire Roche, Shutterfly Wedding Expert and Creative Director/Planner at Grit and Grace Event Co.
Digital Files – Some photographers offer a selection of final images in a password-protected online gallery. These galleries allow couples and their families to purchase prints at prices set by the photographer.
A few popular wedding album suppliers include QtAlbums, Priscilla Foster Handmade, and RedTree. The latter offers a variety of album options that are conveniently designed for couples by the photographer according to different themes, making it easy for them to find the one that best reflects their wedding day. Each of these albums also has a variety of cover options including UV printing, laser-etching, and embossing to personalize them even further.
